Oh Canada!

While I as home, my mom and I took a day trip down to the southern end of the Okanagan valley though Penticton and on down to Kaleden in her fairly-new convertible. We usually make this trip when I go home because we both love all the cool fruit stands along the way.

The stands are all set up decorated differently, each one trying just about anything to entice tourists to stop and buy some local produce. They sell everything from native carvings and folk art to jam and home made pies.  These stands are THE only place to buy your Halloween pumpkin, and from the picture above, you can see they were already on sale in mid-August.

Some of the signs and attractions have been there since I was a kid and so this is a real bit 'o nostalgia for me. The weather was perfect and the scenery beautiful, save a small detour into Olala which will never be repeated. More pictures from my trip back home later...
